According to Coroner Greg Shore, his office is looking into the death of a man who passed away almost a month after a motorcycle accident in Easley, South Carolina. Anderson County 911 was called at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024, regarding a man on a motorcycle who had been struck by a car on Old Pendleton Road in Easley.
What happened to Sanford Welborn?
The South Carolina Highway Patrol, Medshore EMS, Anderson County EMS, and Anderson County Fire Department all arrived on the site. After receiving medical attention from rescuers, the victim was transported to Prisma Hospital in Greenville, where, on November 9, 2024, at 2:35 am, he passed away from his wounds.
The victim has been identified as Sanford Welborn, a male from Easley, South Carolina, who is 57 years old. According to the preliminary inquiry, the man was struck by an oncoming car after pulling out into the road on his motorcycle. He was flung from the motorcycle because he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
Multiple traumatic injuries resulting from blunt force trauma are the cause of mortality. It has been decided that the death was accidental. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Anderson County Office of the Coroner are still investigating.
