A 24-year-old woman, identified as Morgan Glover, tragically died in a wrong-way crash early Sunday morning on GA 400 in Buckhead, Atlanta police reported. The collision occurred around 5:10 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the highway near Lenox Road NE.
According to authorities, Glover was the driver of a Kia Sorento, which was involved in a head-on collision with a Toyota RAV4 driven by a 52-year-old man. Upon arrival, officers found Glover unresponsive and not breathing, and she was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
The driver of the Toyota RAV4 was also found unconscious but breathing. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, though his condition has not been disclosed at this time. Police say that preliminary findings suggest one of the vehicles involved may have been traveling the wrong way, which likely led to the fatal crash. Investigators are continuing to probe the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine the exact cause.
The crash caused significant disruptions on GA 400, with all northbound lanes in Buckhead being closed for several hours. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) reported that the scene was cleared and lanes were reopened just before 10 a.m. Traffic was diverted to Sidney Marcus Boulevard during the closure.
