Enrique Allen, a resident of San Francisco, California, and the co-founder and general partner of Designer Fund has sadly passed away. He was announced dead by his business partner Ben Blumenrose in a statement that read “It is with a heavy heart that I share that Enrique Allen passed away this week. He was an incredible partner and friend. He will be dearly missed.”
Who was Enrique Allen?
As a co-founder of Designer Fund, Enrique Allen invests $350,000 to $1 million in tech firms with design-focused entrepreneurs, such as Stripe, Gusto, and Omada Health. Since 2013, Enrique has established a successful company that specializes in creating outstanding products and growing top-performing design teams for customers like Dropbox, Facebook, Google, Airbnb, and Pinterest.
Enrique previously worked as a designer for venture capital firms 500 Startups, Facebook’s fbFund, and Venrock, where he contributed to investments in businesses such as Lyft, Behance (bought by Adobe), and Wildfire (acquired by Google). He played Division 1 soccer for Stanford University.
He was a graduate of the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford, where he has been teaching one of the most well-liked courses on digital product design for more than seven years. Enrique was a natural force. A man who brought happiness, energy, and optimism to everyone around him. He had a lasting influence on anyone fortunate enough to be in his orbit.
