Death, Dominick Galarza Strongsville High School student died in car accident – GoFundMe

Strongsville High School student Dominick Galarza has sadly passed away. On Sunday17th November 2024, he died after being involved in a tragic car accident. He was confirmed dead through a post that reads “It is with a heavy heart that I share that Dominick Galarza, 12th grade student at Strongsville High School, died in a car accident on Sunday evening.”

A tragic accident claimed the life of a teenager late Wednesday night in Columbia Township, Ohio. The incident occurred on Columbia West River Road near Sprague Road, and has left the community mourning the loss of a young life. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), the crash happened around 11:04 p.m. when a 2011 Ford Fusion, driven by a 17-year-old male, veered left of center while navigating a curve.

The vehicle then went off the right side of the roadway, struck a guardrail, and traveled down an embankment. Emergency responders were called to the scene, where they extricated the teen from the vehicle. He was quickly transported to Southwest General Health Center but was later pronounced dead from the injuries sustained in the crash.

OSHP officials confirmed that the teen was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, though the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing. In addition to OSHP, local authorities from the Columbia Township Fire Department, EMS, Strongsville Police, and the Olmsted Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Friends and family describe him as a caring and intellectual individual with big dreams for the future. He had aspirations of becoming a therapist, hoping to help others and make a meaningful difference in their lives. Dominick had a variety of passions that defined his personality. He was known for his love of dogs, his enthusiasm for UFC, and his joyful dancing to Spanish music.
