Cornell University Death – On Sunday, a deceased corpse was found in Fall Creek Gorge by local emergency response personnel. According to a news release from the Ithaca Fire Department, officers were summoned to the gorge at 10:30 a.m. because someone was in the river. Responders were actively working, descending down the steep hill with a stretcher, when an officer from the Ithaca Police Department taped off the end of Willard Way at around midday.
At 12:34 p.m., the response team started to bring up the bagged body. It took around three hours to recover. The circumstances surrounding the person’s death are presently being looked into by IPD. There is currently no additional information available. An IFD spokeswoman reported that a woman was taken to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania, after she was discovered unconscious after falling into Fall Creek Gorge earlier Sunday morning. It’s unclear what state she’s in now.
The press release claims that these instances are unrelated. At approximately 10:50 a.m. on Sunday, IFD was also called to the pedestrian bridge on Giles Street when someone thought they saw someone fall into the canyon. Despite a careful search, no victims were found.
Cornell University is a private research university that provides an exceptional education for undergraduates and graduate and professional students.
