Giovanni Castillo, a resident of Fort Worth, Texas, and loving father and a beloved son has tragically passed leaving behind family and friends sad and devastated. He was announced dead by a family member in a statement made on social media that read “My cousin’s life was tragically taken from us.”

The man who was shot dead Tuesday night off MacArthur Drive was identified by North Little Rock police on Thursday. According to a Thursday news release, Giovanni Castillo, 21, of Fort Worth, was shot by officers who responded to a shooting call in the 4800 block of MacArthur Drive at approximately 8:50 p.m. Later, Castillo passed away from his injuries. As of late Thursday, no suspect in Castillo’s murder had been publicly named by police.

Anay Hernandez is organizing a fundraiser for funeral expenses to put Giovanni to rest the way he deserves. The fundraising page organized to raise $15,000 has raised the sum of $8,887 at the time of this report.
The GoFundMe page read “Giovanni has always had the biggest heart to help everyone around him, even when he wasn’t able to. Giovanni was loving, caring, and always strived to put a smile on everyone’s face. He was very loved by many as a son, brother, friend, and father. He was always looking out for everyone, and we want to return the love he gave out.”
